The Town of Florence is installing a temporary portable traffic signal at the intersection of Hunt Highway and Attaway Road the first week in December. The new traffic signal will help to improve the safety levels and decrease travel time at this increasingly busy intersection. The portable traffic signals and barricades are on loan from Pinal County Traffic Department.

Complete or temporary road closures are not expected. However, motorists should expect possible delays and changes in traffic control during this time. The work includes roadside brush clearing, grading, drainage improvements, and the placement of equipment in the area. Please use caution when approaching the intersection.

The installation of a permanent traffic signalization system at this intersection is in the planning stages. Future improvements include permanent stoplight-controlled access for traffic in all directions, turning lane changes on Attaway Road and Hunt Highway and streetlights. The permanent traffic signalization system is expected to be completed within the next two years.
